They have feet. At night, they scurry from place to place looking for a perfect spot to hang out at anticipating our return. Just when we think we know where to find them, they turn up right in front of our eyes and have to jump up 3 feet in the air to get out of the way and keep from tripping. Judging by their pretty colors, you’d think we could see them clearly. Some are even decorated with Elmo or Dora’s picture. Others are made of wood and stained different shades of brown.
You are probably wondering what the heck I’m talking about? I’m talking about those darn step stools. Our house has turned into step stool world. I swear they multiply. Everywhere we go there seems to be one. Outside, in the bathroom, or in the kitchen–there they are. This morning, I found one in the pantry room. It appears they have assisted a munchkin in raiding the fruit loops again. Where did they all come from? I only remember buying two. I should have known it by the expression in her face that the claim for independence had begun. I could literally hear the click in her brain as she put two and two together when we showed her how to use it. Little did I know they would plot against us!

what did you do today?
We spent the day at home grillin’ and wading in the pool. I think it was 109 degrees today. Scorching!!!!!
Check out Abriana’s potty training progress page on the right hand side of the main page. Let’s see how long it takes. Have any tips/stories to share? Please be sure to leave a comment
Took the kids to the beach. The Inn at Fulton Harbor was very nice and their pool was great. Abriana had a fun time floating by herself and baby James did not cry when we put him in the waves. He even ate some sand.
We got a new deck built last week. Here are some pictures of the progress and of us enjoying it!
I was making yogurt partfaits when somebody got a hold of my scraper. Then he started gumming it to death. Guess he can eat yogurt now too.

Today we went to Raymond Rimkus Park in Leon Valley with the NW San Antonio Playgroup. Abriana and James enjoyed it very much. Abriana discovered what a merry-go-round is and that’s all she wanted to ride once she did. (by then I had put the camera away–shucks!) Baby James got on the toddler swing for the first time and shreiked in delight. Can’t wait till next time.
