Well, after about a day and a half of being stuck at home because of the ice storm, I was able to get out of the house today.  I went to work at noon.  Didn’t encounter any ice on the side roads, the highways were closed but Hwy 281 was open at 4PM when I left work.  We lost power last night and lost the satellite signal around 8PM yesterday until about 11 am today. Must have been all the ice accumulating over the satellite dish. We had beef stew, and chili and freshly bake croissants and wildberry muffins and chocolate chip cookies and more cookies to brave the storm. About the only emergency that we had was when we ran out of milk to wash down all the baked goods. Abriana had no idea it was cold outside. We kept her nice and warm.  Happy didn’t like walking on the ice to go potty.  The ice crunching under her feet freaked her out. Now as the ice melts from the roof and trees, you can hear it hit the ground in chunks.  Here are a couple of pictures I took from around the house.
